The townships of Michigamme and Republic are located in Marquette County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The township of Michigamme derives its name from the nearby Lake Michigamme. The township is known as the place “Where the Moose Run Loose.” Wildlife and fish are abundant, and so is the friendliness. The community gathers regularly for parades, socials, fishing derbies and other events.
Camp Michigamme is a Christian camp in Michigamme which is open from June to October and offers programs for children and adults.
Republic is home to the Pascoe House Museum where World War I uniforms and artifacts are on display.
The Republic-Michigamme School District office is located at 227 Maple Street in Republic, Michigan. The motto of the school district is “Building a Brighter Future … Together.”
