Stephenson


Stephenson is located in Menominee County in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and is named after Samuel Stephenson, a leader of the early community. The city is located along the Menominee River, and in the late 1800s was one of the railroad stations for the Chicago and North Western Railroad. The population of Stephenson is 862 residents, as recorded in the 2010 census.

Stephenson Area Public Schools is the home of the Eagles. “Soar with the Eagles” is their motto. The mission of the Stephenson Area Public Schools is to provide an appropriate educational program and learning environment which will effectively meet the educational needs of its students and community and help its students accomplish educational goals which are significant, durable, and transferable. The school district office is located at W526 Division Street in Stephenson.
