Superior Central School is the home of the Cougars and is located in Eben Junction. The small rural school was the first in the Upper Peninsula to earn the distinction of being named a “Green School.” Approximately 350 students are enrolled in the school, which offers direct classroom instruction and access to online distance learning. Internships in the surrounding business community provide students with worthwhile career experience.
Three school districts consolidated in 1987 to create the Superior Central School District: the Mathias Township School District, the Rock River Limestone Township School District, and a small part of Au Train Township. The school is located at the intersection of Highway M-94 and Eben Trenary Road.
